Your Third Month in Belgium: Getting Settled in Leuven as an International

Yes, time flies by, and you are already three months in. By now, Leuven is no longer a new place on the map, but it is slowly starting to feel like home. You are shaping into the city and settling into your routines; you have found your go-to cafés and started building connections that make your new life feel more natural.

Nonetheless, there is still plenty of room to grow. The stage you are at now is less about figuring things out and more about deepening your experience, finding your place, getting involved in the community, expanding your network, and discovering the city in depth. And why not say it, probably feeling the first lows of being far away from home.

In this guide, we will help you make that shift, going from “getting by” to truly belonging. Whether you feel fully settled or still somewhere in between, these tips are for you.
